ERC - Insight - Chicago - RTC
In general we were very pleased by this program. This was our daughter 5th admission so we knew what to do and questions to ask. The facility was brand new at the time, and beautiful. She was actually one of the first patients in their 24 hour care. I felt all staff was amazing, except her primary therapist was fresh out of college and probably overwhelmed by a patient with as many co morbids as our d. Did not run family therapy very well, and many times ended early as there was no direction. They were great about creating an individual plan, like half the days were mood disorder, the other half ED groups. As usual we had to do the discharge planning but they were very good about communicating with us, their thoughts on each program. They also were able to get insurance to cover almost all of stay, which very few other places were able to do. This program is located right down town Chicago, so one of the disadvantages for us was, an patient with anxiety and not liking crowds, there is literally no where to go without crowds. There is a lot of sitting around, with little physical activity. I was surpised that the housing is in a high rise with an amazing exercise facility on the top floor and it is encouraged that they utilize, could be very triggering for someone with exercise addiction. I would defintely recommend if patient can handle being right off of Michigan Ave in Chicago.
